This Post from Suzanne

I have just recently arrived back from Australia.  We had our annual Leadership Conference at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, and Wayne preached a number of sessions there.  The Conference is attended by many Pastor’s around Australia, so it was nice to catch up with some of those Pastors that support us, and have opportunity to share with them about our work here in Thailand.  Also, Pastor Jesda and his wife, plus three of our Thai friends were also able to attend.  Pastor Jesda gave his testimony last year, and this year he taught the adult Bible Class on the Sunday morning leading up to Conference.  He was again very well received, and a blessing to many people.  His attendance at the Conference was also big help and encouragement to him.  He gained many valuable insights.

Sadly, while we were in Australia, we lost a very dear friend.  Tania Chong went to be with the Lord four days after they took her baby at 28 weeks.  I went to the hospital and visited with little Joshua, who is still in intensive care.  Even though I had seen photos of him, I still wasn’t quite prepared for how small he was.  Please pray for Joshua, and his brother Caleb (who is the same age as Curtis).  Also pray for Sylvester and the family as he has many decisions pending.

Wayne is still working with Deeo, and that has not been without its challenges.  I know many people have prayed, and are praying for Deeo, and there are times when we can see God is doing something in his heart.  At times he seems so close to getting saved, then other times he can be quite indifferent.  Please continue to pray for Deeo – that he would come to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour.

Amnuay’s sister and her baby son Noah came to Bangkok a couple of weeks ago.  It was her first time in Bangkok.  It is quite common for young people that grow up in country areas to have travelled very little, if any.  Amnuay invited her to come to Church, so her and Noah came along with us.  It was her first time in Church.  She told Amnauy she enjoyed it very much – it was not scary, like when she goes to the Temple.  Below is a picture of Moy and Noah.  Please pray for them, and that God would continue to use Amnuay to be a good, strong witness to his family.

The Church here in Lad Prao is going well.  I enjoyed getting back with the choir again.  Funny as it sounds .. I think they have improved a lot in the time I’ve been gone.  I was very encouraged by both their volume and tuning.  On Sunday they sang Victory is Won – and they did a great job!!  There have also been a number of people saved and baptized in the last couple of months, which has been very exciting to see.  We had another baptism on Sunday – below are a couple of photos.

In my last update I requested prayer for Khun Pharin, who had major surgery after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  Pharin is still undergoing chemotherapy.  This has been very challenging for her, but she has kept a positive attitude throught, despite losing all her hair.   Please continue to pray for the family and that God will have His Healing Hand upon her.

Curtis goes back to school next week, after their two-month summer break.  It will be the start of a new school year for him.  He is very excited about going up to grade 3!  We were very pleased with his school report. His highest grade was in Thai language.  He is really mastering the language very well – both writing and reading.  What a blessing for him to have such an opportunity at such a young age!!

Please continue to pray for Sarah and Justin.  Sarah is doing really well at her job with an accountancy firm, while Justin should complete Year 12 around the end of November!  Justin is now trying to work out what to do next year – whether he will continue his education, or maybe take a twelve-month break first.  They are both quite active in the church, and are committed to several ministries.  A good church family is a tremendous blessing!

Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement and support.
